Chapmanville Travels To Miner Mountain For Battle With Mingo Central

The 13th-ranked Chapmanville Tigers picked up a huge win over rival Logan last week and now look to continue the momentum on the road against the Mingo Central Miners.

The Tigers (5-3) are coming off a 49-7 win over Logan on Friday and hope to firmly entrench themselves in the Class AA playoff picture.

Brody Dalton will guide the Tiger offense. Dalton is 98-of-164 passing for 1,228 yards, 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He also has 76 carries for 436 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Kohl Farmer leads Chapmanville on the ground with 178 carries for 1,007 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Adam Mullins is Dalton’s top target, catching 45 passes for 617 yards and 5 touchdowns. Austin Adkins has 335 yards and 4 touchdowns on 27 catches. Jacob Topping has 18 catches for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Mingo Central (3-5) is not in the playoff picture, but the Miners will look to play spoiler.

Quarterback Chris Ross will hope to have a game like he did against Shady Spring two weeks ago when he was responsible for 299 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Running back Dylan Vance had a great outing as well with 131 yards and 1 touchdown on 17 carries. He also caught 2 passes for 86 yards and another touchdown.

Malaki Sheppard caught 3 passes for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns as well for the Miners.

The opening kick is set for 7 pm on Friday at Mingo Central.
