Miners Down Renegades

The Mingo Central Miners used a 36-point third quarter to blow open their contest en route to a 56-6 victory over the home standing Westside Renegades on Friday in Clear Fork.

The Miners, who were playing their first game of the season, were led by quarterback Chris Ross and Dylan Vance.

Vance had 233 yards on 13 carries with 4 touchdowns. He also had a 42-yard touchdown reception. Ross completed 5-of-7 passes for 65 yards, with that 1 touchdown to Vance. He also had 136 rushing yards on only 4 attempts, including 1 touchdown.

Defensively, JR Perry led the Miners with 8 tackles. Jake Cline added 6 tackles. JC Lester recorded two sacks. Nate Hynd also recovered a fumble for Mingo Central.

The Miners will play their first home game on Friday when they welcome that Point Pleasant Black Knights at 7:30 pm.

Westside will hit the road for the first time to season by traveling to Man for a contest with the Hillbillies. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm on Friday.
