The Lawrence County Bulldogs saw their season come to an end as they fell to the Montgomery County Indians, 98-72, in the Sweet 16 Tournament at Rupp Arena on Thursday.
The Indians (23-10) jumped out of the gate quickly and stormed out to a 25-15 lead after the opening quarter. Montgomery County continued to stretch out the lead and took a 50-30 advantage into the locker room at the intermission.
Any hope of a Bulldog (23-11) comeback were dashed in the third period as the Indians extended their lead to 76-49 heading into the final quarter. From there, Montgomery County was able to cruise to the win.

Kaiden Harris led Lawrence County with 18 points. Kaden Johnson followed with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Gunnar Woods fired in 15 points. Hayden Perry had 10 points and 6 rebounds. Luke Fetherholf added 7 points. Caden Muncy, Braxton Davis and Wyatt Branham finished with 2 points each.
For Montgomery County, Luke Fawns led the way with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Tyce Jarvis scored 21 points and snagged 7 boards. Cayden Reed scored 15 points and dished out 10 assists. Dawson Gentry and Ethan Dunn scored 8 points each. Dane Klute added 7 points and had 7 rebounds. Andrew Terry had 6 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Price Campbell and Austin Hatton chipped in with 3 points each. Isaiah Rowlett and Noah Routt finished with 2 points apiece.
Montgomery County will face North Laurel in the quarterfinal round on Friday at 6 pm.
