The Phelps Hornets picked up an 83-59 win over East Ridge on Saturday at the old Feds Creek Gym. The game served as East Ridge’s senior night. East Ridge was hosting the game at Feds Creek due to its home gym being used as a shelter for those affected by recent flooding.
The Warriors (7-19) came out early and held a 12-11 lead after the opening period. The Hornets (13-11) fired back in the second frame and took a 29-24 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
Phelps took full control in the third quarter and held a 57-40 lead heading into the final period. From there, the Hornets continued to stretch out the lead and took the win.
Zade Rash and Knox Wallace led Phelps with 20 points each. Tyler Weddington followed with 14 points. Toby Adese scored 12 points. Jahmar Stewart added 7 points. Gavin Hamilton had 4 points. Reece Norman, Andrew Caines and Brandon Howard finished with 2 points apiece.
For East Ridge, Carter Damron led the way with 19 points. Talon Hopkins followed with 15 points. Peyton Coleman had 12 points. Canaan Ramey had 6 points. Brayden Wilson scored 5 points. Connor Adkins finished with 2 points.
East Ridge will next play at Shelby Valley on Monday. Phelps will host Belfry on Monday.
