Blankenship Named Head Baseball Coach At Tug Valley

LeeAnn Blankenship is the woman for the job! The longtime area coach and former star athlete has been named the new head baseball coach at Tug Valley High School.

She is a 1998 graduate of Tug Valley where she started four years in basketball and softball. She also earned a scholarship and played both of them at WVU Tech.

Blankenship brings a wealth of coaching experience and knowledge to the position. On the high school level, she served as head baseball coach at Tolsia for one season and as an assistant at Tug Valley for one season. At the middle school level, she was the head baseball coach at Kermit for three years and also served as an assistant coach for Kermit for two years.

Blankenship also has coaching experience on the basketball court, serving as the head coach for Kermit’s girls team for one season and as an assistant for Kermit’s boys team for two seasons.

She has also coached various youth teams over the years and has amassed 20 years of coaching experience under her belt.

“I am excited about this season,” said Blankenship. “We have a great group of boys. We are going to work hard and get better everyday. I’ll give 100% and expect them to do the same. It’s going to be a fun year.”

Blankenship also announced that Crum Middle School head coach Marky Spaulding will serve as her assistant coach. Spaulding is a Tug Valley graduate where he also played baseball for the Panthers.
