The 2nd ranked Tug Valley Panthers took control early and cruised the rest of the way as they throttled the Van Bulldogs, 87-43, on Tuesday in Naugatuck.
After Van (0-7) jumped out to a 3-0 lead, Tug Valley (6-2) used the press to cause turnovers and score the next 25 points. The Panthers led 31-7 after the first quarter. The starters came out after the opening frame, but the reserves controlled the spotlight for the rest of the night. Tug Valley held a 49-15 lead at the intermission.
The Panthers kept up the pace in the second half as they cruised the rest of the way to get the win over the Bulldogs.

Aiden Fleming led the Panthers off the bench with 20 points, 5 assists and 3 steals. Cameron Slone followed with 14 points and 5 assists. Braxton Perry had 11 points and 5 rebounds. Carson Newsome scored 9 points and recorded 3 steals. Braydun Ferris scored 8 points. Derek Jewell added 6 points. Ethan Ferrell and Kaden Hale recorded 5 points each. Bryson Elia, Ashton Davis and Jace Hale finished with 3 points apiece.
Tug Valley will next face county rival Mingo Central on Saturday up on Miner Mountain.
