The Harts Middle School Lions picked up a nice win over the Logan Timberwolves, 69-39, on Saturday in the Willie Akers Classic at Willie Akers Arena in Logan.
Both teams came out evenly and were tied 12-12 after the opening period. Harts (9-1) took control in the second period to take a 31-16 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
The Lions continued to extend the lead over Logan (7-3) in the third period and took a 51-30 lead heading into the final quarter. From there, Harts controlled the final period.
Jaxon Vance led the Lions with 25 points. Kayson Harless followed with 15 points. Easton Bender fired in 10 points. Kyler Blair and Easton Critchley scored 6 points each. Jaxon Lusk chipped in with 4 points. Keaton Browning finished with 3 points.
Logan was led by Robbie Beddow’s 19 points. Keaton Brown followed with 8 points. Ridge Browning and Dane Pritchard scored 3 points each. Nathan Ilderton, Aiden Adkins and Kolton Hall finished with 2 points each.
