The 2nd ranked (Class AA) Logan Wildcats jumped out early and never looked back as they rolled past West Logan Christian, 92-33, on Friday in the Willie Akers Classic at Willie Akers Arena in Logan.
The Wildcats (7-0) shot out of the gate quickly, taking a 23-4 lead after the opening period. Logan held a 43-20 lead at the half.
Logan kept pushing the pace and outscored West Logan, 32-4, in the third period to increase its advantage to 75-24. The Wildcats cruised from there for the win.
Zayden Sherod paced the Wildcats with 23 points. Lucas Lambert followed with 17 points. Ivan Miller had 16 points. McCormick Ilderton added 10 points. Matt Hatfiled scored 6 points. Keigan Vance added 5 points. Ethan Robinette scored 3 points. Braxton Baisden finished with 2 points.
Logan will play Williamstown in a Class AA showdown on Saturday in the second day of the Willie Akers Classic in Logan.
