Rebels Storm Past Buffalo To Help With Playoff Push

The Tolsia Rebels picked up a lot of valuable points as they make a playoff push by defeating Class AA Buffalo, 50-8, on the road Friday night.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Rebels (5-2) got on the board when Robert Evans scored on a 4-yard run to make it 6-0. A few minutes later, Bray Mollette rumbled into the end zone. A Luke Williamson conversion run made the score 14-0 at the half.

The Rebels increased their lead in the third quarter. Evans scored his second touchdown of the game on a 14 yard run early in the period. Later in the period, Evans returned a punt back 55 yards for a score. Another Williamson conversion run increased the lead to 28-0. Williamson then scored on a 16 yard run. Dakota Blackburn’s conversion run made the score 36-0.

Williamson then scored on another 16 yard run. Blackburn added a second conversion run to up the score to 44-0. After Buffalo (3-5) scored at touchdown, Greyson Golden returned the ensuing kick 62 yards for a touchdown and the final points of the game.

Williamson completed 4-of-6 passes for 105 yards and 1 interception. He also carried the ball 10 times for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Evans had 22 carries for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also caught 1 pass for 8 yards. Mollette had 31 yards on 4 carries and 10 yards on 1 reception. Blackburn had 3 carries for 16 yards. John Jarrell picked up 13 yards on 2 carries.

Zach Ratliff hauled in 2 passes for 87 yards in the win.

Tolsia returns home next week in a battle with Hurley, VA.
