Shelby Valley Looks To Get Second Win At Betsy Layne

The Shelby Valley Wildcats will look to get their second win of the season, but in order to do that they’ll have to pick up a win on the road on Thursday against the Betsy Layne Bobcats.

The Wildcats (1-6), coached by Tyler Johnson, are coming off their first win of the year as they defeated Pike County Central, 14-12, last week.

Shelby Valley is led by explosive quarterback Brady Johnson. So far this season, Johnson has completed 100-of-160 passes for 1,792 yards, 12 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also has 58 carries for 407 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Clark Craft is another strong running option. This season, he has 319 yards and 1 touchdown on 46 rushing attempts.

The WIldcats have a lot of top notch receivers with Kolton Stamper, Peyton Combs and Bryce Bentley leading the way.

Betsy Layne (6-1), coached by Jarredd Jarrell, picked up a nice 39-8 win over East Ridge last week and hope to get another big win.

Carter Parsons will run the offense for the Bobcats. So far this season he has completed 31-of-59 passes for 544 yards, 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Andrew McCutcheon is Betsy Layne’s top offensive weapon. So far this season, he has 126 carries for 1,406 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also has 3 receiving touchdowns on the season.
