Shelby Valley Looks To Get First Win At Pike County Central

The Shelby Valley Wildcats have been knocking on the door to get their first win all season. To do so this week they’ll have to win on the road against a good Pike County Central Hawks club.

The Wildcats (0-6), coached by Tyler Johnson, came close to winning their first game of the season in their last outing in a 49-44 loss to Elizabethtown.

Quarterback Brady Johnson leads Shelby Valley. So far this season, Johnson has completed 84-of-138 passes for 1,564 yards, 11 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He has also carried the ball 52 times for 348 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Johnson’s top target is Kolton Stamper who has 21 catches for 402 yards and 3 touchdowns. Peyton Combs has 12 receptions for 377 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Robert Collins leads the defense with 66 tackles and 2 sacks.

The Hawks (3-3), coached by Scott Grizzle, come into the game after picking up a 32-14 win at Floyd Central last weekend.

Jamere Knuckles leads the Hawks at quarterback. This season he has completed 50-of-101 passes for 618 yards, 3 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He has also carried the ball for 299 yards and 5 touchdowns on 68 carries.

Lane Adams is Pike County Central’s top receiver with 22 catches for 311 yards and 1 touchdown.

Trevor Holbrook leads the defense with 67 tackles, including 7 for a loss and 1 interceptions.

This will be a great match up that you are going to want to see in person. Be there!
