The Tug Valley Panthers have been dominant this season, but they face a big test in a huge rival on Friday when they travel up US 52 to take on a strong Tolsia Rebels team.
The Panthers (4-0), coached by Hady Ford, are the top ranked team in Class A. Last week, Tug Valley rolled past Morgan County, 48-6.
Preston May will be the quarterback for the Panthers. May completed 13-of-23 passes for 206 yards and 3 touchdowns last week. He also had 3 carries for 44 yards and 1 touchdown.
He’ll have the dangerous and versatile Bryson Elia starting in the backfield. Elia had 6 carries for 36 yards and 1 touchdown as well as 3 catches for 55 yards and 1 touchdown a week ago.
Cameron Slone leads the Panther receivers. He’s coming off a big day with 7 catches for 104 yards and 1 touchdown against Morgan County.
The Rebels (3-1), coached by David Thompson, are off to a fantastic start of their own. Tolsia is ranked 14th in Class and is coming off a 47-0 win over Calhoun County.
The versatile Robert Evans will take the snaps at quarterback. Last week, Evans completed 3-of-6 passes for 120 yards and 1 touchdown while carrying the ball 12 times for 68 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Bray Mollette leads the Tolsia ground game. He had 13 carries for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also caught 2 passes for 48 yards against Calhoun County.
Zach Ratliff has been the top receiving target so far this season he caught 1 pass for 72 yards a week ago.
