Carter Parsons is a quick and elusive playmaker with a nice touch when he hurls the pass with ease down the field. Carter can throw efficiently from the pocket or on the run with quick game-winning decisions. Once he breaks the pocket, Carter becomes more of a threat because he can beat you with his arm or his running ability. Carter is special at reading the defense because of his ability to see the whole field and react quickly.
This past season, Carter had 92 completions in 167 attempts for 1,754 passing yards and 21 passing TDs. Also, add in 62 carries for 421 yards and 3 rushing TDs when he tucked it and ran. Carter’s performance helped his team to a 10-2 record – the best record in school history and earned their first ever playoff appearance. Carter feels the biggest improvement in his game that helped him accomplish this achievement was getting stronger through the Hayes Training System. During this run, Carter earned himself All District x2, All MTN x2, and All-Area X2. Carter’s goal this season is to set another historic record by helping lead his team to a first ever state championship.
Rivalry games are what fuel Carter’s fire the most. To Carter, you always bring your A game, but these are about pride and bragging rights. No one wants to ever lose a rivalry game. The crowd is as wild as the gameplay – loud and electric, which motivates everyone.
Carter handles adversity by using it as fuel to the fire – always bouncing back pushing himself and his team to go even harder.
What Carter brings to the field that sets him apart from any other player is his leadership and confidence. Add his IQ, athletic abilities and coachability – now you have someone special and a proven winner.
Carter is open to playing at any division level that will allow him the opportunity to play his game while getting an opportunity to earn a valuable education to set the stage for his future. He is a dual sport super athlete who excels at both football and basketball. Carter knows he will set himself up well for a few good options if he accomplishes his goals.
Carter’s advice to those coming behind him is to never put your head down and work as hard as possible.
I assess that Carter is an extremely gifted athlete who thrives at anything he sets his mind to. With his fearless competitive fire, there’s no limit to how high he can fly. He brings that high IQ and winning mentality with him everywhere he goes. Carter pushes himself to be the best he can be and never settles to be just okay with a subpar game. He has the mindset that winners win by doing whatever it takes to achieve the goal. I am hyped to see him on the field this year as well as seeing Carter play live at Betsy Layne. They are doing something special as they build a new winning culture with this young stud leading the way.
