Daulton Combs is a three-point marksman with a quick trigger and silky smooth touch. With his size, he can elevate well to get the shots he wants off, even from mid-range. His shooting ability is what opens up every other facet of his overall game. He excels in the paint and is a “team first” type player. He is a physical defender who rebounds extremely well for a guard.

Last season, his team lost in the Regional Semifinals and that left a very bad taste in his mouth. This kid is highly motivated and is always striving to get better. Daulton lives in the gym and in the weight room. He fully understands just how hard it is to get to the next level and is willing to do whatever it takes to get there.

Playing AAU with Midwest-Crawley, he averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game. Daulton feels if your first goal is to put in the work it takes to win, the other stuff will take care of itself. He is a fierce competitor who always looks to guard the opposing team’s best player. He has been working hard to improve getting to the rim more often since he has always been known as a shooter with a tendency to pop 3-pointers. With his size and strength, he will absolutely be able to get to the rim and free throw line more often.

When asked what his goals were for next season, he said he wants to win the district, region, and make a run at the state tournament. He is fully focused on getting his team to Rupp Arena. He said he feels like his team can make some noise in the state tournament, as long as they play the way they are capable of, and they play as a team. The competitor in him loves to be on the floor when he has to compete against high ranked players. He loves to test himself against the absolute best competition.

When things aren’t going well in a game he always remembers to trust the process and remember all the work he has put in, even when the ball just doesn’t seem to be landing in the net. He said he feels if you keep playing hard and leave it all on the floor, everything will work out in the end. If he and his team gave it everything they had and simply fell short, he is ok with that, knowing that everyone will lose sometime.
