Trayten Woods is a triple threat dynamo with a high game IQ, with and without the ball, who possesses incredible court vision. He has a beautiful touch from downtown and is flat out electric with crafty moves off the bounce. Those moves not only create opportunities for himself but also for his teammates. This kid drops dimes like candy and is a total defensive pest.

Last season, he averaged 15.3 points (87 made 3-point field goals), 5.1 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game. His team lost in the first round of the state tournament, and that left him with a very bad taste in his mouth. Playing AAU for Kentucky Vision, his goals have been to compete against the best competition possible while also focusing on getting stronger. Trayten’s goal next season is to lead his team back to the state tournament and catch the eyes of as many college coaches as possible.

What fuels him the most on the court is his defense. He loves to see the look of frustration on his opponents’ faces. He is unselfish and enjoys seeing his teammates getting fired up and just having fun. He will do whatever it takes to motivate his team. When things aren’t going his team’s way, he always remains calm and thinks of the little things that need to be done on the next play. That is leadership at its finest.

When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said, “A team player first, who is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win. I am a natural leader, who a coach can trust to make plays during pressure time with the game on the line.”

He feels he can play at any level in college because of his work ethic and his knowledge of the game. My assessment is this gem can really excel on both ends of the floor, and he will have a strong impact on any program he is a part of. This kid is a coach’s dream who checks every box. He is extremely competitive and hungry, and that makes him flat out dangerous. He strives to learn and get better each and every day. This kid is a proven winner. Seeing is believing folks. Trust me, and come check him out for yourself in real time.
