Crayson Lafferty is a fierce two way player who impacts both sides of the ball. Offensively, Crayson’s impact is hitting the lanes with power and speed doing enough to keep the defense honest. Crayson had 38 carries for 174 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 conversions. But Crayson’s greatest strength is his defensive dominance as a one man wrecking crew. His IQ and field vision give him the ability to meet the ball where it is going to go like no other. Once Crayson makes contact he is a bone crusher and the play is over.

Crayson’s skill set is incredible, and he doesn’t yield much of any extra yards after he arrives like a runaway train. Crayson had 132 Total Tackles (66 solo and 66 assisted) with 11 tackles for loss 2 forced fumbles, 1 recovery and 3 interceptions. The numbers don’t lie – that is how to crash a party and cause a whole lot of chaos. He did all of this as a freshman, y’all! I got a name for that – PUNISHER!! Crayson has been a 1x All American in baseball and had several state appearances and awards in wrestling by being a finalist. In football, Crayson has  been ranked #1 in 1A football which is a huge achievement for him as a freshman and plans to have at least 200 tackles next year.

Fueling the fire within for Crayson comes naturally, but losing a loved one that loved football – having a dad who has always loved it and had been a very successful linebacker keeps him playing and loving the game. Crayson has gone through a shattered elbow, a broken leg and had to sit out his 8th grade year of everything and also a part of his freshmen year from some sports. Crayson would tell a coach that I know the game better than anyone probably else and that he’s going to have a smooth rolling defensive game because nobody is getting past him. Crayson feels like with good grades and his hard work ethic he could go D1 in baseball, football or wrestling. And Crayson is a legit D1 talent in football without a doubt. I can’t wait to catch him playing baseball.

Crayson wants to go to Kentucky because it’s close to home but North Carolina and Oregon are his other two favorites They’re just far from home. To a kid coming up behind Crayson, he would tell them to block out any negativity, especially from the house or coach or other people. You can’t let anyone tell you your value as a player other than yourself. What determines that is how hard you really want to work. Playing is a strong word, because some people are just playing. Others are working and creating a life and love for the game.
