Williamson High School Athletic Hall of Fame Announces 2024 Class

The Williamson High School Athletic Hall of Fame Board of Directors have announced the 2024 induction class. It will be the 27th class enshrined by the Hall of Fame.

The five newest members of the Hall of Fame are Wofpack greats:

Chris Carroll
Carroll was a key member of Williamson’s 2001 Class A basketball state championship squad and a first team All-State selection. Carroll scored 22 points in the title game over Ocean, highlighted by a thunderous dunk in the final minutes to help secure the school’s last ever basketball state title. Carroll went on to start at center for Pikeville College.

Jessica Fields-Diamond
Fields-Diamond, a 2010 graduate, was a former captain on the girls basketball, volleyball and softball teams. She scored over 1,000 career points for the Lady Pack and was named a Class A honorable mention in basketball her senior season. She pitched on Williamson’s 2008 and 2010 softball sectional championship teams. Fields-Diamond was given the Ban Hamilton Award as a senior for most career varsity letters earned.

Bobby Fletcher
Fletcher, a 1981 graduate, was a member of the basketball team his last three seasons. Fletcher was a key member of the 1981 Wolfpack squad that won its first 25 games before falling to Princeton in the Class AAA title game. Fletcher then went on to play collegiately at Berea.

Chris Leftwich
Leftwich was a 1979 graduate who was a member of the football and track teams. He was best known as a defensive nightmare for opponents. Leftwich, a defensive captain as a senior, was named to the All-Southern Team, the Williamson Daily News All-Area Football Team and played in the Kiwanis Senior Bowl.

Clinton Ooten
Ooten graduated in 1989 and played on the football team for three seasons. He played both offensive and defensive tackle for the Wolfpack. Ooten earned honorable mention All-State honors and was an All-Area and All-County selection Ooten then walked on and earned a spot at West Virginia University under head coach Don Nehlen.

The induction ceremony will take place at 4 pm on August 3. There will be a meet and greet on August 2 at 6 pm.

The Board of Directors will also be recognizing the 1988 and 1989 state championship basketball teams.

Tickets for the induction weekend will be $40 per person and $25 for children 12 and under.
