Former Martin County girls soccer star Kaitlyn Gauze is getting quite the experience this summer. The defensive midfielder is a starter for Chattanooga FC, becoming the first Martin County player to play semi-pro soccer.
Gauze has played collegiately for the University of Charleston the last two seasons and will return to the school for her junior season in the Fall. This past season, the University of Charleston won the Mountain East Women’s Soccer Tournament for the first time in program history.
For now, Gauze will patrol the midfield for Chattanooga FC in the South Region of the Women’s Premiere Soccer League. The team is a member of Major League Soccer Next Pro – a feeder for Major League Soccer.
Congratulations to Kaitlyn and good luck on the pitch from D&D Sports Network!
