East Carter Falls To Ryle In State Tournament Heartbreaker

The East Carter Raiders saw their season come to an end as they fell to Ryle, 4-2, in extra innings during the opening round of the KHSAA State Baseball Tournament on Friday at Legends Field in Lexington.

After Ryle took an early 1-0 lead, East Carter (22-7) jumped ahead in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Tate Scott singled home Evan Goodman and Caleb Layne to take a 2-1 advantage.

The score remained the same until Ryle tied the game up at 2-2 in the top of the 6th inning.The game then went into the top of the 8th inning where Ryle scratched across two runs to take a 4-2 lead. East Carter couldn’t get anything going in the bottom of the 8th inning to take the tough loss.

Andrew Tomolonis Took the loss for East Carter after allowing 3 earned runs on 10 hits while striking out 10 batters while pitching all 8 innings.
