The Perry County Central Lady Commodores and Hazard Lady Bulldogs advanced to the 54th District Softball Championship with wins in the semifinal round on Monday at Leslie County.

The Perry County Central Lady Commodores took advantage of 14 bases on balls to defeat Buckhorn, 15-0, in three innings.
Kyra McAlarnis had a double and 3 RBIs for Perry County Central Kaitlyn Grigsby added a double and 1 RBI. Every single starter for the Lady Commodores scored at least 1 run, as the team only needed 2 hits to score 15 runs.
Grigsby got the win in the pitcher’s circle, allowing no hits and striking out 2 batters in 1 inning pitched.

The Hazard Lady Bulldogs advanced to the championship game with an 11-1 win over Leslie County in five innings.
Mallory Combs had 2 doubles for the Lady Bulldogs. Kaydence Stollings had a double, 2 singles and 3 RBIs. Ryleigh Griffith and Peyton Fields recorded a double, a single and 2 RBIs each. Braylynn Eddington had a double, a single and 1 RBI. Hallie Jones had 2 singles and 1 RBI. Heidi Jones finished with a triple and 1 RBI.
Fields got the win after allowing 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 9 batters in 5 innings pitched.
Hazard and Perry County Central will play each other for the 54th District Championship on Wednesday at Leslie County High School. The opening pitch is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
