The Scott Skyhawks knocked off the Logan Wildcats in the Class AA Region IV Section 2 tournament, 3-2, to advance to the championship round on Thursday.
The Skyhawks trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning before Hayden Johnson scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 2-1. Louden White then doubled to bring home Ryan Neal and Nick Miller to put Scot ahead 3-2.
White finished with a double, 2 singles and 2 RBIs. Austin Light and Jason Ferrell finished with a single apiece in the win.
Logan only got a hit each from Alton Ellis and Adam Baisden.
Kedron Elkins got the win on the mound by allowing only 1 earned run on 2 hits while striking out 3 batters in 5 innings pitched. Cross Conn was given the loss.
Logan falls to the loser’s bracket and will face Wayne on Friday. The winner of that game advances to the championship round against Scott on Saturday.
