The Logan Lady Wildcats advanced to the championship round of the sectional tournament as they defeated the Scott Lady Skyhawks, 6-2, in an elimination game on Friday in Wayne.
For Logan, Ashlin Brumfield had a triple, a single and 1 RBI. Lacy Curry had 2 singles and 1 RBI. Myleigh Adkins had a home run and 2 RBIs. Harlee Quick had a single and 2 RBIs. Isabella Propst and Addison Brumfield had a single each.
Amelia Smith had a double, a single and 1 RBI for Scott. Hailey Capps had a homer and 1 RBI. Cambri Barker added a single in defeat.
Charlie Albright earned the win, allowing only 1 run on 2 hits over 5 innings while striking out 4 batters. Barker was given the loss.
Logan will next face Chapmanville on Monday. If the Lady Tigers win, they’ll claim the sectional championship. If Logan wins, the Lady Wildcats will play Chapmanville one last time for the championship on Tuesday.
