The Scott Lady Skyhawks kept their season alive as they defeated the host Wayne Lady Pioneers, 9-1, in the loser’s bracket of the sectional tournament on Thursday at Wayne.
Natalie Green led the Lady Hawks with a homer, a double, a single and 3 RBIs. Hailey Capps had 3 singles and 3 RBIs. Kambri Beard had 2 singles. Amelia Smith added a double and 1 RBI. Ava Sampson singled and had 1 RBI. Haven Tomblin and Reagan Williams finished with a single each.
For Wayne, Maddie Eastwood had a triple. Courtney Thompson had a single and 1 RBI. Averi Napier, Alexa Bishop and Mykayla Thompson finished with a single each.
Alyssa Shultz got the win in the pitcher’s circle by allowing only 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 5 batters over 5 innings.
Scott will next face Logan in the loser’s bracket on Friday for a chance to face Chapmanville in the championship round.
