The Chapmanville Lady Tigers came back from an early deficit to defeat the Logan Lady Wildcats, 6-5, to move to the championship round of the sectional tournament in Wayne.
Chapmanville was trailing 3-0 in the top of the 5th inning when Charity Atwood singled home a run and Laken Parks doubled home two runs to time the game at 3-3.
Logan regained the lead in the bottom of the 5th inning when Harlee Quick smacked a solo homer to put the Lady Wildcats up 4-3. However, Chapmanville regained the lead for good in the top of 6th inning when Evy Altizer hit a two-run homer.
The Lady Tigers were able avenge two regular season losses to Logan with the win.
For Chapmanvile, Altizer had a single, a home run and 2 RBIs. Megan Brown had 2 singles. Parks recorded a double and 2 RBIs. Atwood and Chloe Murphy had a single and 1 RBI. Brooke Christian and Erica Sigmon each added a single.
Isabella Propst had a single and a double for the Lady Wildcats. Taylor Noe finished with 2 singles and 1 RBI. Quick finished with a homer and 2 RBIs. Kaylie Coleman had a single and 1 RBI.
Murphy got the win for Chapmanville after allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 11 batters over 7 innings. Myleigh Adkins was given the loss for Logan.
Chapmanville now advances to the championship round on Saturday. Logan moves to the loser’s bracket and will face Scott on Friday. The winner of that game will face the Lady Tigers.
