Perry County Central has chosen Letcher County Central assistant coach Kelah Lowe as the team’s next head coach to lead the program.
Lowe comes in after serving as JV head coach and head varsity assistant coach for the Lady Cougars. She replaces Misty McAlarnis who guided the team to two 54th District Championships, including one
Lowe comes in with impressive accolades. She played at Letcher County Central and is the school’s leading scorer while earning 14th Region Player of the Year and 14th Region Tournament MVP honors. She then went on to start four years at UPike. While there, she helped lead the team to the 2016 NAIA Final Four. In 2017, she was named NAIA All-American.
After he playing career, Lowe served an assistant at Letcher County Central and helped the Lady Cougars win three District Championships, two 14th Region Runner-Up finishes and one 14th Region Championship.
It will be exciting to see what Coach Lowe does at Perry County Central.
