Recently departed Logan High School boys basketball coach Jeff Williamson has accepted the position of head boys basketball coach at Dodge City High School in Dodge City, KS.
Williamson’s appointment is pending board of education approval, but his hiring was already announced by the school in a press release. His fiancé Jenna Rycek has also accepted the position of School Psychologist in the same school district.
“I am extremely excited and honored to have this opportunity,” said Williamson in the press release. “I can’t wait to begin meeting with players and hosting team camp. My fiancé and I look forward to being a part of the Dodge City community. My vision for Red Demon basketball is for our team to play with energy, joy, and excellence while working to become the best young men (on and off the court) that we can be.”
Williamson finished with a 16-10 record in his only season as Logan’s head coach, including a trip to the Class AAA State Tournament.
If Dodge City sound familiar to you, it gained notoriety in history and pop culture by being a frontier town and serving as the home for a period of such notable icons as Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and Bat Masterson.
Congratulations to Coach Williamson and good luck in his new position from D&D Sports Network!
