Williamson Steps Down At Logan

Logan boys basketball head coach Jeff Williamson has stepped down as the head coach of the Wildcats after only one season guiding the program.

Under Williamson, Logan returned to the West Virginia State Tournament after missing the field the year prior. The Wildcats improved greatly throughout the season. At one point, Logan was 8-9 and was on a five-game losing streak, but then things turned around.

The Wildcats won at Tug Valley in a contest where they took the lead for good early in the first quarter. It was the start of an eight game win streak that saw Logan win the sectional and regional championships and earn a berth to the state tournament. The Wildcats fell to East Fairmont in the Class AAA state tournament and finish the season at 16-10.

Logan will now begin its search for a new head coach.

Good luck to both Williamson and the Wildcats for whatever the future holds for both.
