Orem Steps Down As Pikeville Girls Basketball Coach And Athletic Director

Pikeville High School girls basketball coach and athletic directory Kristy Orem has stepped down after eight amazing seasons at the helm of the Lady Panthers.

Orem finished with a career record of 208-55 with five 59th District titles and and five 15th Region Championships. During her run, she never won fewer than 20 games in a season.

Orem took over as head coach for the 2016-17 season and finished with a 20-9 record. The following season, the Lady Panthers finished the season with a 24-9 record. The 2018-19 Pikeville team had a fantastic season, finishing 27-8 with a District and 15th Region title. the 2019-20 Lady Panthers finished at 26-8 and won the 15th Region crown. Pikeville won District and 15th Region titles in 2020-21 with a 25-6. Orem won her third District title and fourth 15th Region title in a row with a 31-3 campaign in 2021-22.

During the 2022-23 season, Pikeville finished at 28-6 and won the 59th District. This past season, Pikeville was 27-6 with a 59th District and 15th Region title.

Pikeville will be making some decisions soon, but replacing Orem will be no small task.
