The 3rd ranked (Class AA) Chapmanville Lady Tigers moved to 13-0 on the season as they defeated the 5th ranked (Class A) Tug Valley Lady Panthers on Tuesday in Naugatuck, 11-1.
For Chapmanville, Chloe Murphy had 3 doubles, 2 RBIs and 1 run scored. Charity Atwood added 2 singles, a double and 4 runs scored. Madalyn Farly recorded 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 1 run scored. Evy Altizer had 2 singles, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Brooke Christian smacked a solo homer and scored 2 runs. Laken Parks had a single with 1 RBI and a run scored. Erica Sigmon recorded a single.
For the Lady Panthers (9-3), Bailee Hall had a home run, a double, 1 RBI and a run scored. Tailyn Russell and Jessica Spaulding each had singles.
Murphy pitched a complete game, allowing only 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 14 batters. Hall was given the loss for Tug Valley.
Chapmanville is scheduled to play at top-ranked Herbert Hoover on Wednesday. Tug Valley is set to play at Martin County on Wednesday.
