8th Grade phenom Peyton allowed only 1 hit while striking out 8 batters over 7 innings as the Hazard Lady Bulldogs defeated Breathitt County, 3-0, in the 14th Region All A Classic at Hazard on Monday.
Freshman Braylynn Eddington broke open a scoreless game in bottom of the 6th inning with a two-run homer to center field to give Hazard a 2-0 lead. Mikayla Shepherd also scored on the home run. Heidi Jones then doubled to right field to drive in Mallory Combs for the game’s only other run.
Kaydence Stollings, Ryleigh Griffith, Jones and Shepherd all had doubles. Fields added a single at the plate.
The Lady Bulldogs are currently 10-0, which is the best start in program history. Hazard will continue playing in the 14th Region All A Classic on Wednesday by hosting Wolfe County.
