Ryan Stephens singled home Aiden Horn in the bottom of the 8th inning as the Martin County Cardinals got an 8-7 win over the Tug Valley Panthers at home on Wednesday.
Stephens had 4 singles and 2 RBIs to pace Martin County. Horn had 3 singles and 2 RBIs. Damian Cheek had a double, single and 1 RBI. Hunter Moore had a double. Brock Messer added a single and 1 RBI. Chase Stacy, Eli Mills and Aidan Mann each recorded a single.
For Tug Valley, Gage Whitt had 2 singles and 2 RBIs. Julian Vance had a double and 2 RBIs. Gavin Fitzpatrick recorded a single and 1 RBI. Ashton Smith had a double. Dakota Ooten, Chandler Copley and Austin Smith each had a single.
Cheek got the win on the mound for the Cardinals. Austin Smith was given the loss for Tug Valley.
Martin County will play at Menifee County on Saturday. Tug Valley is scheduled to play at Phelps on Thursday.
