The Tug Valley Panthers started their baseball season with a 2-1 record this past week.
Tug Valley – 5
Lincoln County – 1
Austin Smith got the win on the mound allowing only 2 hits while striking out 2 batters over 3 innings pitched.
Dakota Ooten hit a solo homer to left field to highlight the offensive effort. Conner Lackey drove in two runs with a double. Zachary Hall also had an RBI ground out.
Tug Valley – 13
Mingo Central – 3
Hall got the win by allowing only 1 hit over 3 innings with 6 strike outs.
Ashton Smith was 2-of-2 with two doubles, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Julian Vance was 2-of-3 with a triple, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Lackey was 2-of-4 with 2 RBIs. Chandler Copley had 2 hits with 2 runs scored. Ooten and Jacob Jones each had a hit and 1 RBI.
Westside 10
Tug Valley – 3
Jaeden Lester got the win for the Westside Renegades. He allowed no earned runs on only 3 hits while striking out 12 batters over 4.2 innings. Vance was given the loss for Tug Valley.
Westside was led by Kadien Vance with 3 hits and 3 runs scored. Bryson Blankenship drove in 2 runs as well.
Lackey and Gage Whitt both drove in runs for the Panthers.
