Bryson Bishop scored 26 points as the Westside Renegades (16-6) picked up a 77-69 win over the Tug Valley Panthers (16-6) to end the regular season at Westside High School.
Bishop came out scorching hot with 15 points in the opening quarter, including hitting 4-of-5 shots from 3-point range. The two teams played a close opening period with Westside holding a 21-20 lead. The Renegades outscored the Panthers in the second frame, 18-12, to take a 39-32 lead at the intermission.
Tug Valley slightly cut into the lead in the third frame to make it a 61-56 advantage for the Renegades. However, Westside was able to maintain its lead in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Brayden French followed Bryson Bishop with 18 points. Austin Bishop had 17 points. Kadien Vance and Coltin Lester scored 6 points each. Braxton Waldron had 4 points.
For Tug Valley, Kaden Hale led the way with 22 points. Bryson Elia followed with 10 points. Braydun Ferris, Ashton Davis, Carson Newsome and Buddy Marcum all scored 8 points each. Brady Brewer had 3 points. Preston May finished with 2 points.
Westside will play at county rival Wyoming East in the opening round of the sectional tournament on Friday at Wyoming East High School.
The Panthers will go into sectional play next week. Tug Valley will play the winner of Man and Van on Wednesday in the sectional semifinals.
