The Pike County Central Hawks flexed their muscle in a 75-49 win at Shelby Valley on Saturday.
The Hawks (15-8) jumped out to a 17-10 lead after the first quarter. Pike County Central pushed out the lead to 30-21 at the end of the half. Things got out of control for the Wildcats (6-13) in the third period as the Hawks outscored them, 31-15, to take a 61-36 lead into the final period. Pike County Central coasted to the win from there.
Jaylan Rigdon led the way for the Hawks with 35 points. Jaden Stewart followed with 32 points. Jake Slone and Grant Hall added 3 points apiece. Peyton Owens and Omarii Harvey finished with 1 point each.
Eli Stewart led the Wildcats with 16 points. Riley Phillips and Logan Johnson followed with 8 points each. Ethan Sykes and Jonah Bartley recorded 5 points apiece. Blake Crum added 3 points. Bruce Coleman and Caden Johnson chipped in with 2 points each.
Pike County Central next plays on Monday at home against Mountain Mission, VA. Shelby Valley travels to East Ridge on Tuesday.
