The Tug Valley Panthers (10-1) jumped out to a 31-7 first quarter lead on the way to an 88-46 win over the Sherman Tide (7-6) on Saturday night in Naugatuck.
The Panthers came out firing in the first period as Braydun Ferris and Kaden Hale scored 10 points each to lead Tug Valley to a 31-7 lead. The lead grew to 53-22 at the intermission, and the Panthers coasted in the second half to the win.
Ferris led the way for the Panthers with 21 points and 7 assists. Buddy Marcum followed with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Kaden Hale and Carson Newsome added 12 points each. Bryson Elia and Brady Brewer netted 7 points each. Evan Bryant scored 4 points. Preston May, CJ Branham and Jace Hale finished with 2 points apiece.
The Panthers will next be in action on Tuesday when they travel to Seth for a second game in a row against Sherman. The opening tip is set for 7:30 pm.
