The Tug Valley Panthers moved to 5-0 on the season with a 72-52 win over the West Logan Christian Warriors on Tuesday in Naugatuck.
The Panthers jumped out of the gate quickly with a 17-7 lead after the first quarter. Tug Valley then extended the lead to 31-16 at the intermission. After an even third period, the Panthers led 52-37 heading into the final frame. Tug Valley outscored the Warriors, 20-15, in the final period to get the win.
Braydun Ferris led the Panthers with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 blocks. Buddy Marcum followed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Kaden Hale and Carson Newsome fired in 9 points each. Ashton Davis added 8 points. Bryson Elia scored 4 points. Brady Brewer recorded 3 points. Jace Hale, Evan Bryant and Dereck Jewell finished with 2 points each.
Jacob Walls led West Logan Christian with 19 points. Jordan Adams fired in 16 points. James Scites followed with 12 points. Andrew Cozart dropped in 3 points. Alex Martin scored 2 points.
Tug Valley will play again next Tuesday up on Miner Mountain at Mingo Central. The opening tip is set for 7:30 pm.
