The Wayne Lady Pioneers jumped ahead early and never looked back as they defeated the visiting Chapmanville Lady Tigers, 65-33, on Tuesday out Wayne.
The Lady Pioneers (3-0) jumped out to a 19-11 lead after the opening period. Wayne extended its lead to 36-19 at the intermission.
The lead continued to grow through the second half as Wayne stretched out it lead to 53-28 heading into the final period. The Lady Pioneers cruised from there.
Brooke Adkins paced the Lady Pioneers with 16 points and 3 steals. Laneigh Brooks followed with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Jaycelyn Sammons had 13 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Addie Adkins dropped in 10 points. Mikayla Stacy finished with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 steals. Kiya Brown chipped in 2 points.
For Chapmanville (2-2), Daizi Farley led the way with 9 points. Alaira Evans and Jaycee Blair finished with 8 points each. Brooke Christian added 5 points. Jaiden Mahon finished with 3 points.
The Lady Pioneers will next play on Friday when they host Scott at 7 pm.
Chapmanville hosts defending Class AA state champion Wyoming East on Saturday at 6:30 pm.
