Addie Smith scored 24 points to lead the Mingo Central Lady Miners to a 51-46 win over the visiting Westside Lady Renegades on Tuesday at Mingo Central High School.
The Lady Miners (2-0) jumped out to an 11-8 lead after the first period and 25-22 at the intermission. Mingo Central increased the lead to 39-30 after three periods. The Lady Renegades (1-2) cut into the lead in the final period, but the Lady Miners snagged the win.
Delaney Grimmett followed Smith with 10 points. Gianna Akers netted 8 points. Jayden Bailey fired in 7 points. Bella Hall chipped in 2 points.
For Westside, Sara Lilly led the way with 13 points. Kenzie Morgan had 10 points. Kaitlyn Lester fired in 9 points. Daisha Cline dropped in 8 points. Karsyn Paynter finished with 6 points.
Mingo Central will host Summers County on Saturday at 5 pm.
Westside travels to Pikeview on Thursday for a 7 pm opening tip.
