The Phelps Lady Hornets opened up their season on Tuesday with a 50-36 win over Mount View in Phelps.
The Lady Hornets are expected to have a good year, and they did not disappoint in their first game.
Junior Kylea Weddington with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore Caleigh McCoy played well in her first action since sustaining an ankle injury in the team’s first scrimmage by scoring 14 points. Bailey Norman fired in 5 points. Aerionna Pigman and Faith Potter scored 4 points apiece. Madison Dotson and Kaylyn Slone finished with 2 points apiece.
The Phelps Lady Hornets will next play on Friday when they travel to play host Twin Valley, VA in the Hoopalachia Hardwood Classic at 8 pm.
