The 4th seed (Class AA) Scott Skyhawks suffered a shocking loss, 28-24, in their last regular season game on the road against the Nitro Wildcats. Now, Scott has a chance at revenge as the Wildcats come to West Madison on Saturday in the opening round of the playoffs.
Scott (9-1) will be led into the game by star quarterback Matt Frye. Frye has completed 160-of-238 passes for 3,068 yards, 36 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also has carried the ball 32 times for 202 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Preston Cooper is Scott’s leading rusher with 169 carries for 1,256 yards and 13 touchdowns. Carson Brinegar has 20 carries for 249 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Brinegar is also the team’s leading receiver with 78 catches for 1,296 yards and 12 touchdowns. Brayden Clark has 849 yards and 9 touchdowns on 29 receptions. Isaiah Bush has 32 catches for 602 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Nitro (7-3) is led by quarterback Josh Moody. This season, Moody has completed 182-of-269 passes for 3,465 yards, 49 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
Eli Littlejohn is the Wildcats’ leading rusher with 736 yards and 7 touchdowns on 101 rushing attempts.
Malachi Thompson is Nitro’s leading receiver with 50 catches for 1,186 yards and 20 touchdowns. Amellio Miller has 49 receptions for 872 yards and 6 touchdowns.
