The Betsy Layne Bobcats defeated the Prestonsburg Blackcats in the opening round of the 2A playoffs on Friday. To say it was a big deal would be an understatement.
Head coach Jarredd Jarrell and his team are currently 10-1. The 10 wins are the most in school history, and Friday’s win over Prestonsburg was the first playoff win in Bobcat history. It was the second victory this season over the Blackcats. Coming into the season, Betsy Layne had only defeated Prestonsburg one other time.
The Bobcats will look to continue their season on Friday when they try to win their second playoff game at Martin County. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
