Wayne Hammers Dots To Qualify For Playoffs

The Wayne Pioneers came into Friday night just outside of the Top 16 teams in Class AA. After a dominating 52-14 win over the Poca Dots, Wayne was able to move to 15th and qualify for a playoff spot.

The Pioneers (6-4) got 203 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception on 11-of-16 passing from Fisher Fry. He also had 4 carries for 21 yards and 1 touchdown. James Spradlin completed 1-of-1 passes for 17 yards.

Jaxson Damron had 12 carries for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. Colton Mathis had 78 yards and 2 touchdowns on 9 carries. Jarrod Perry had 5 carries for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kaiden Hayton had 3 carries for 45 yards. Jayden Waymon had 2 rushing attempts for 28 yards. Donte Worrell had 1 carry for 7 yards. Ashton Walker had 1 carry for 1 yard.

Hayton had 1 reception for 60 yards. Spradlin had 2 catches for 55 yards. Ronnie Staley recorded 4 receptions for 51 yards. Kade Estep caught 3 passes for 20 yards. Damron caught 1 pass for 17 yards and 1 touchdown. Kaden Watts caught 1 pass for 17 yards.

The Pioneers will now travel to 2nd seed Fairmont Senior in the opening round of the Class AA playoffs. The opening kick is scheduled for Friday at 7:30 pm in Fairmont.
