The 17th ranked (Class AA) Wayne Pioneers are hoping qualify for the playoffs when they take on the Poca Dots on Friday in Poca.
The Pioneers (5-4) have won three straight games and are looking to secure one of the final playoff spots with a win. Quarterback Fisher Fry will lead the offense after completing 77-of-131 passes for 1,076 yards, 12 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He also has 297 yards and 4 touchdowns on 70 rushing attempts.
Ronnie Staley is Fry’s top target with 21 catches for 346 yards and 2 touchdowns. Staley also has 3 interceptions on defense.
Colton Mathis leads the rushing attack with 664 yards and 12 touchdowns on 83 carries. Jaxson Damron has 94 carries for 609 yards and 9 touchdowns.
For the Dots (3-6), will be led by star running back Preston Bonnett. Bonnett has over 1,000 yards this season for the Dots. Poca has lost its last three games.
The opening kick is set for 7 pm out Wayne.
