Friday Night Football Preview: Tug Valley Looks To Take Down Bulldogs And Earn Home Playoff Game

The 8th ranked (Class A) Tug Valley Panthers hope earn an opening round playoff game at home, but standing in their way is the Van Bulldogs.

Tug Valley (7-2) will enter the contest without starting quarterback Preston May. May missed last week’s 22-21 loss at Man with an injury. Bryson Elia handled the quarterback duties last week and completed 9-of-15 for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns. Elia also carried the ball 27 times for 107 yards and 1 touchdown.

Elia will have some good targets to work with, including Cameron Slone, Buddy Marcum and Ashton Davis.

Adam Slone will join Elia in the backfield after rushing 6 times for 34 yards in the previous game.

Van (2-7) is coming off its second win of the season, beating Buffalo, 48-16, on Friday.

The Bulldogs have struggled this season, losing seven games by multiple scores.

The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm at Bob Brewer Stadium in Naugatuck.
