The Matewan Tigers beat the Lenore Rangers, 34-22, on Monday in the semifinals of the Mingo County tournament.
For the Tigers, Scott Edie had 10 carries for 201 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. He also had a 47-yard touchdown reception. Peyton Parker had 8 carries for 102 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. He also completed 2-of-6 passes for 61 yards and 1 touchdown. Parker also threw a 2-point conversion pass to Garon Hinkle. Xavier Sartin finished with 7 carries for 57 yards and 1 touchdown.
Defensively, Parker had 14 tackles and a fumble recovery. Sartin had 9 tackles. Edie had 8 tackles. Hinkle finished with 7 tackles.
Matewan will next play Williamson in the Mingo County Championship on Thursday up on Miner Mountain.
