The 3rd ranked (Class AA) Scott Skyhawks used a dominant ground game and stifling defense to 28-0 win over the Poca Dots on Friday in Poca.
Scott (8-0) got a good performance from star quarterback Matt Frye. Frye completed 9-of-17 passes for 164 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Frye also rushed for 1 touchdown.
Preston Cooper led the ground game with 30 carries for 232 yards. Caden Sutphin had 2 carries for 11 yards. Jeremiah Brown finished with 7 yards on 1 rushing attempt.
Brayden Clak led the receivers with 67 yards and 2 touchdowns on 2 receptions. Carson Brinegar had 5 catches for 57 yards. Jax McCarty caught 2 passes for 40 yards and 1 touchdown.
The Skyhawks now will have a show down with the 6th ranked Winfield Generals. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm in West Madison.
