Trinity Rowe and Carter Hurley won individual championships as they led the Pikeville Panthers to Region 7 Class 1A boys and girls Cross Country titles. With the win, Pikeville will compete in the state championships.
Rowe placed first in the girls competition with a time of 21:54.26. Cadence Compton placed second with a time of 22:22.98. Charlize Compton was 5th. Kristen Whited was 6th. Kenzi Thornberry was 9th. Kylie Hall was 10th. Allison Leitch was 11th.
Hurley was first in the boys race with a time of 17:48.45. Daylan Keathley was second with a time of 18:16.40. Coleman Howard was third at 18:53.33. Patton Trimble placed 5th. Eric Lin was 15th. Parker Breahm placed 18th.
It was the third straight year that the girls won the title. The boys took the crown for the second straight year.
