Friday Night Football Preview: Panthers Looking To Send Off Seniors With A Win On Senior Night

After handing West Carter their worst loss of the season, the Panthers turn their attention to Bath County. Fleming County is hosting the Wildcats this coming Friday, Oct. 20th for the Panthers’ senior night. The Panthers will be honoring 12 seniors: Caden Arrasmith, Morgan Arnett, Zain Barbee, Mark Blackstone, Andrew Brewer, Caden Ervin, Austin Farrow, Isaac Frye, Landon Johnson, Nate Martin, Levi Moran, and Austin Trent.

Fleming County currently is 5-3 on the season and 2-2 in district play. The Panthers will look to improve to 6-3 and 3-2 in district play this Friday. The Panthers are looking to continue gaining momentum as they head toward the playoffs.

The Panthers enter the matchup averaging 29.7 points per game while allowing 18.3 points per game. The defense has only allowed more than 27 points one time this season and in the last 3 games have only allowed an average of 8.6 points per game.

The Panthers are averaging 118.4 passing yards per game and 204.6 rushing yards per game. The Offense is averaging 323 yards of offense per game.

Austin Trent has been a workhorse for the Panthers all season. Trent has 144 carriers for 854 yards and 8 touchdowns. Fellow senior, Landon Johnson is coming off back-to-back monster performances. In the last two games, Johnson is averaging 181 yards rushing per game and has 5 rushing TDs in those two games. He also threw a touchdown pass last week.

Nate Martin has completed 58 of 106 passes for 864 yards and 7 touchdowns this season for the Panthers. Martin is averaging 108 yards per game passing.

To no one’s surprise, one of Martin’s favorite targets in the passing game is none other than Landon Johnson. Johnson has 26 receptions for 436 yards and 4 touchdown receptions. Jordan Harn has 17 receptions for 190 yards and 2 TDs. Austin Farrow has 10 receptions for 189 yards and 2 TDs.

Isaac Frye leads the Panthers in tackles this season. Frye has 70 tackles including 4 sacks and 16 tackles-for-loss. Austin Trent has 60 tackles with 1 sack and 10 tackles-for-loss. Aiden Johnson has also spent a lot of time in the backfield with 13 tackles-for-loss including 4 sacks and 59 total tackles.

The opportunistic Panthers’ defense has recovered 5 fumbles and has 8 interceptions on the season. Landon Johnson has 2 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions. Caden Arrasmith has a fumble receovery. Isaac Frye also has a fumble recovery. Owen Lowe has the other fumble recovery on the season. Jordan Harn has 2 interceptions. Austin Farrow, Craig Lofton, Preston Everidge, and Chris Collett has an interception each. Everidge and Collett each has a pick-six.

Bath County (1-7) has struggled this season. They currently have lost 7 straight games and will be looking to snap that losing streak. Their offense has struggled since putting up 20 points in the opening game of the season. The Wildcats come into this game averaging 8 points per game. The Wildcats are allowing 38 points per game.

The Wildcats are averaging 152.9 yards per game of total offense. They are averaging 49.1 yards per game passing and 103.8 yards per game rushing. Cole Hart has 5 passing touchdowns on 40 of 80 completions for 361 yards passing. Cole also has 2 rushing touchdowns on the season. Carter Hart has 91 carries for 445 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown.
