It will be a showdown on Miner Mountain. The 6th ranked Mingo Central Miners host the top ranked Roane County Raiders in a battle of two of the best Class AA teams in West Virginia on Friday.
The Miners (6-1) will have Chris Ross starting at quarterback. So far this season, Ross has completed 74-of-126 passes for 1,056 yards, 12 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He also has 71 carries for 335 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Dylan Vance has 76 rushing attempts for 786 yards and 7 touchdowns to lead the Miners on the ground. He has also caught 16 passes for 279 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Aidan Burke is the leading receiver for the Miners with 23 catches for 347 yards and 4 touchdowns. Malaki Sheppard is also a big weapon in the passing game with 21 receptions for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Raiders (7-0) will have Jacob Greathouse under center. Greathouse has completed 33-of-57 passes for 605 yards, 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
Brandon Richardson is Roane County’s leading rusher with 830 yards and 10 touchdowns on 102 carries. Lane Watson has 41 carries for 417 yards and 8 touchdowns. Clay Walker has 70 carries for 328 yards and 5 touchdowns.
