The Lawrence County Bulldogs (6-2) traveled to Powell County (1-7) to take on the Pirates. The Pirates had only 1 win on the season and had lost two straight heading into the matchup with the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs, on the other hand, were fresh off a blowout win over Magoffin County and was looking to make it two in a row. The Bulldogs would have no problems in a 36-0 win over the Pirates.
Lawrence County would jump out early. Talan Pollock would connect with Carlo Chicko for a 54-yard touchdown pass to give the Bulldogs the early 6-0 lead. Pollock would then connect with Dalton Runyons for a 91-yard touchdown pass, and after a successful 2-point conversion, the Bulldogs led 14-0.
Pollock would find Chicko again in the 2nd quarter for a 17-yard pass, and after the successful 2-point conversion, the Bulldogs would lead 22-0. That would be the halftime score.
It would be much of the same for the Bulldogs in the 3rd quarter. Pollock would connect with Kaden Johnson for a 36-yard touchdown pass, and after the PAT, the Bulldogs lead would grow to 29-0.
The Bulldogs would find the endzone once again in the 3rd quarter. This time, Caven Williams would break loose and score on a 17-yard touchdown scamper. After the PAT, the Bulldogs would lead 36-0. This would be the final score of the game.
The Bulldogs would hold the Pirates to only 124 yards of total offense. Jacob Green had 10 carries for 52 yards, Preston Spangler had 11 carries for 51 yards, and Aiden Larrison had 11 carries for 28 yards for the Pirates. That would prove to be their only offense on the night.
The Bulldogs QB, Talan Pollock would complete 9 of 18 passes for 215 yards and 4 touchdowns. Dalton Runyons had 3 receptions for 98 yards and 1 touchdown. Carlo Chicko had 4 receptions for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kaden Johnson had 1 reception for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Caven Williams had 4 carries for 39 yards and 1 touchdown. Abner Collinsworth had 1 carry for 26 yards. Cody Crum had 4 carries for 19 yards. The Bulldogs would finish the game with 121 yards rushing.
Powell County (1-7) will travel to Belfry (5-3) this coming Friday, Oct. 20th. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
Lawrence County (6-2) looks for their third straight win this coming Friday, Oct. 20th, when they host Boyd County (4-4). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
